We’re a group of students and teachers brought together through our school, Mahindra United World College of India, a member of the renowned UWC movement whose mission statement is to “make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.”. Through our college we’ve had the opportunity, support and funding to start a student led initiative named Kriyā, to support marginalized women in communities on the perimeter of our home.

Swimming is a vital survival skill, especially during the flood-prone monsoon season. Although these lessons are demanding, there are plenty of laughs to spare.
On a hill in rural India, young men and women from two valleys come together with international students from all over the world over a new game -Ultimate Frisbee. They are building a team that can compete in state and national tournaments, but the game is a also metaphor for inclusive play. Having teenagers work together across gender, caste, class and cultural divides is a powerful statement that can reshape community expectations and norms.
